In the spotlight: Zaïra van Druten
“Being part of a close-knit team is important to me. Where you work together for clients, without experiencing hierarchical differences,” is a quote from Zaïra van Druten. Since July 2022, she has been a commercial employee in our internal sales department and an important safety net for our account managers. If they are not available, clients usually get Zaïra on the phone. Many of our suppliers know her by now as well. Why is that? You can read about it here:
The diversity of activities
The fact that colleagues like Zaïra need to be able to work quite flexibly and independently is mainly due to the Socia DNA. This is what she says about it: “What is so enjoyable about working at Socia is that account managers have the freedom to offer specific or rare products. The request simply needs to be submitted. Incidentally, I admire the creativity my colleagues possess in almost always finding suitable solutions for clients. The positive consequence of this is that my daily work is different every day. After all, I have to search for the items/products clients request, request quotes from suppliers (I also handle bids and tender requests), and naturally, clients expect a competitive quote and often multiple alternatives in return. Additionally, I check back orders and follow up on order lists that have been outstanding for more than two days. I would like to call myself 'the linchpin' between account manager and client. As a result, account managers can maintain focus on client contact.”
Working in a close-knit team
Like many other Socia colleagues, Zaïra came to work for us through a colleague. In this case, it was her friend Tracy Gunputsing, who also works with us. “I always heard stories from her about a pleasant working atmosphere, nice colleagues, celebrating successes together, and a group that regularly goes out together. My conclusion in hindsight is that I worked too long in environments where there was too much hierarchy, colleagues didn't know you well enough, and you felt that the focus was primarily on what was good for the company. This time, I felt it was my turn. At Socia, they don't just look at the job content, but especially at whether you fit into the company culture, such as daring to take responsibility and being entrepreneurial. Fortunately, that click is there, and that is why I plan to stay for a long time. And yes, Tracy's remark, “just come and make new friends,” has also come true.”
